Since becoming a member at Egypt Valley, Mary Collins feels very blessed to have met the people she has at the club.
“The friendships I've made at EVCC will be lasting,” she said, noting several of those friendships blossomed thanks to participating in the Women’s League.
Mary, who owns Mary Collins LLC, Interior Design, has been a member at Egypt Valley for six years, along with her husband, Al, and 24-year-old son, Trent.
“I took up the game of golf in my early twenties, joining another local club where we were members for 22 years before coming to Egypt Valley,” said Mary, who is active in the Ladies Association at the club. “I also volunteer my time on the House Committee.”
Growing up in a family of artists, English and art teachers, and designers made it easy for Mary to choose a career path she was passionate about: Interior design.
“I enjoy attending numerous trade shows throughout the year learning about new products including innovations in lighting, plumbing, drywall edging and acoustical solutions,” said Mary, noting the emphasis she places on utilizing quality furniture brands and American made products throughout her designs, as well as what’s stocked at their store—Douglas Home Furnishings—located in Douglas.
Mary is excited to lend her design expertise to some upgrades coming to the Egypt Valley clubhouse, which will be started in the off-season, in addition to some nice changes in spring 2020.
A passionate advocate and supporter of the Bissell Foundation, Mary volunteers a large portion of her time helping out at a local animal shelter, ensuring dogs in need of homes get to spend time outside going for walks and receiving the love they deserve.
When Mary isn’t at the club walking the golf course, she might be found playing beach volleyball, traveling, as well as appreciating fine art, and fashion—especially, a stylish pair of shoes.
If you see Mary around the club, be sure to say, “Hello!”
