Homemade Blueberry Pie

No matter the flavor, there’s something inherently comforting about a homemade pie.

Egypt Valley Chef, Dawn Boertman, shares her mouthwatering Blueberry Pie recipe—complete with a decadent streusel topping—that’s sure to leave a lasting impression. 


  • 1 pie crust
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 5 cups blueberries


  1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF.
  2. Combine all ingredients.
  3. Scoop mixture into crust. 
  4. Add pie topping of choice, whether that be a pie dough top or streusel topping (recipe below).
  5. Bake 35 minutes with the crust covered (I like to wrap mine in pan-sprayed tin foil), then uncover crust and bake an additional 10-20 minutes until pie is set and not jiggly.
  6. Enjoy!




  • 2 sticks butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt


  1. Cream together butter and sugars.
  2. Add in the rest of ingredients and mix until combined.
