Meet the Chiodini Family

Members since 2012, the Chiodini family has found fun and friendship at Egypt Valley. From Homecoming dinners to 50th birthday parties and more, the family finds the Club to be a special place where their paths have crossed with friends they may never have met otherwise.

Victor and Jennifer first met at a wedding they both attended at Blythefield Country Club, and were members at a different club before eventually joining Egypt Valley. Victor started his business, Chiodini Services LLC, over 20 years ago, and Jennifer works alongside him as his assistant. The business focuses on helping businesses of all sizes with their benefit packages, in addition to working with individuals to help with retirement planning and Medicare.

The family lives in Ada and has two children—Bella, who’s 18 and a freshman at Michigan State University, and Emerson, who’s 16 and a junior at Forest Hills Eastern High School.

Growing up at the Club, the couple’s children enjoyed all the Junior Sports programs, such as the swim team. Jennifer recalled some of the cherished memories created through their involvement.

“Getting ribbons and medals, getting ready for the swim meets with the sharpie marker, to writing motivational words and races numbers on their bodies … Red Ball tournaments and Parent-Child tournaments bring back fun memories. The trophies the kids collected over the summers are fixtures on their bedroom shelves,” she said.

Tennis is a strong sport for the Chiodinis. Jennifer played in college, Victor played in high school and Bella was the no. 1 Doubles player at Forest Hills Eastern. Currently, Emerson is the no. 1 Singles player at Forest Hills Eastern, having just finished the season this fall where he was named an All-Conference player.

And while they’re more of a tennis family overall vs. golf, the Chiodinis still have had plenty of success out on the courses.

“The kids did the Jr. PGA; Emerson has always leaned towards tennis but now that he has grown taller than Victor, he should definitely get out there and swing the club,” Jennifer said. “Bella played for Forest Hills Eastern Girls Varsity Golf, where she helped her team come in fifth place last year at the 2023 MSU States where she finished with an 85 in her last round as a senior.”

Jennifer herself started a golf league at Grand Rapids Golf Course with her co-workers at Eaton and brought along some friends—that's when she shares that she really began playing golf. Alternatively, Victor started golfing during his senior year while attending Central Michigan University. Encouraged by his roommates to come play with them at the PohlCat Golf Course in Mount Pleasant, Victor has been hooked ever since.

At the Club, the couple have taken on some fun golf events together.

“Victor and I won the Couples Golf Net Championship in 2021—that was fun,” Jennifer shared. “Victor has been a Member-Guest flight winner twice and played on multiple Challenge Cup teams. His proudest achievement was this year's 2024 Top Gun Men's League Championship with his longtime ‘Pards’ Mike McGivney.”

The family loves that the Club’s courses are challenging, and thanks to having 36 holes, you’ll never get bored.

“We’re blessed to have Championship-like course,” Victor said. “If you can play at Egypt Valley, you can play anywhere in the world.”

Jennifer added that she enjoys the beauty of the course, the wildlife and the sunsets, noting that walking the course is also a great workout.

Beyond sports, Egypt Valley has been the backdrop for many of the family’s special life events.

“Bella had many Homecoming dinners and pictures taken here over the years, as well as senior pictures,” Jennifer said, adding that Victor also celebrated his 50th birthday party at the Club. “We meet so many great friends through the Club from sports and events that if we weren't members, we probably would not have crossed paths and have never met them. Victor has traveled to Scotland, Ireland and Bandon Dunes with his friends and that never would have happened without friendships from the Club!”

Having experienced amazing summer sports, Beach Bash parties, swim-in movies and field trips, Bella and Emerson have also made some great friendships that likely wouldn’t have happened without belonging to the Club.

When not on the courses at Egypt Valley, you could often find Victor at the bar or patio with the usual suspects, Emerson on the tennis courts, and Jennifer and Bella enjoying the pool. Outside of the Club, the family also enjoys vacationing together, whether they’re going out West skiing, venturing Up North or escaping to warmer climates in places like Mexico and the Caribbean.

If you see the Chiodini family around the Club, be sure to say, “Hello!”
