Employee Spotlight: Jordan Fortuna
Kelsey Shoemaker
Published Date
As an Outdoor Service Assistance team member at Egypt Valley, Jordan Fortuna can be found working down in the rack room and handling various other responsibilities. From setting up and taking down the driving range and short game area, to interacting with members and cleaning their clubs and washing and putting away golf carts, to setting up empty carts so members can set out to play their round of golf, Fortuna helps members have a smooth experience on the courses.
Fortuna can also be found taking members clubs from bag drop and putting them on carts or back in storage. He’s always checking the tee sheet to see if any members got added and sets them up on a walking or riding cart. He’ll sometimes be the one running food and drink orders out to the course, taking out trash at night or making sure members bags and walking carts are ready to go for the next morning.

Explain a bit about your Egypt Valley journey and how you came to work at the Club!
My first job was working at Pilgrims Run on their grounds crew and I did that for about three years. Then I decided I wanted to be a bag boy and interact with people more. So I stopped working at Pilgrims Run and decided that I wanted to work at a high-end country club such as Egypt Valley. I called Egypt Valley one day seeing if they had any bag boy jobs available; with a little persuasion, I got the job and have been working at Egypt Valley ever since. I really have been loving it here.
What’s your favorite part of your job at the Club?
My favorite part of my job at Egypt Valley is being able to interact with members and making long-lasting connections with them. I’d also say that I love how fast paced and hectic my job can be at times—every day is different.
What’s something surprising/interesting about you that members might not know?
Something surprising or interesting about me is that I am an only child and that I am also a student athlete at Aquinas college where I play golf.
When you’re not at the Club, what could you be found enjoying?
When I am not at the Club, you can find me working out or doing some type of physical activity. I really like to lift weights and run to stay in shape. You can also find me hanging out with friends.
Over the last few years that I have been working at Egypt Valley, I have truly loved it and say that it is a great place to work and to be a member with all of the cool events they put on.
